Sheri Dixon
Sheri Dixon lives in beautiful East Texas with her beloved
and ever-patient family on 12 acres of forest, wetland and meadows in a
self-designed log cabin nestled between 2 creeks and surrounded by hundreds
of acres of Bigfoot-infested wilderness.
Together they share the joys and challenges of running a small family farm
and have made a life work of looking to the past for the keys to living
gracefully, comfortably and lightly on the planet with a bare minimum of
gadgets and gizmos.
They share the farm with various and sundry poultry, a spoiled but kind
Arabian mare, an assortment of dogs, a geriatric barn cat, a dangerous gang
of dariy goats led by a rogue sheep, and a horrifying number of pedigreed
long-haired guinea pigs.
Although the Dixons hate being away from home, they love to travel and meet
other Homesteaders, and consider "Road Trips" to be every bit as important a
subject in their son's home school curriculum as "Reading", "Writing" and "Rithmatic".
By age 10, their son's field trips had traversed 25 states and followed the
Mississippi River from nose to toes- Minnesota to Louisiana.
In her spare time, Sheri manages an emergency clinic for 19 area
Veterinarians, writes books, and bakes totally kickass brownies. Her
email address is webmaster@grinninggoatgifts. |
